Is your child highly interested in learning to play the drums? And do you wonder if they might be too young to learn it?

Our experience has taught us that as early as five years old, a child can be taught to play the drums. Children, even very young children, love to drum and find it exciting. It is also good for their motor skills development.

Our children’s drum lessons include the following:

Fun drum introductions like basic drum beats and rhythm
Exercises to improve hand motor coordination and timing
Memorizing single beats and their combinations
Basic drumming facts and ideas
Pop and Rock Drum Patterns
And more fun drumming activities

The following is a sample structure of the basic drum lessons’ first month. Please be advised however, that we customize every lesson based on your children’s preferences and the teachers teaching methods:

Lesson 1 – Basic Drum Beats

Introduction to drum sets and their functions
Understanding basic drum beats and patterns
Coordination techniques for faster mastery of basic beats
Basic proficiency in playing drums

Lesson 2 – Physical and Mental Mastery of Drums

Fun games and activities to create interest in reading the music sheet
More games to introduce the various music symbols like high hats, ride cymbal and snare drum and how they are played on the drums
Stimulating exercises to accompany drumbeats with accents, and to try out a snare and bass drum groove

Lesson 3 – Rock Star Style Drum Grooves

Introduction of eighth note beats to advance to rock star status
Progression to drumming basic star beats to faster tempos
High jump on their confidence as they achieve drum mastery as they reach lesson 3

Lesson 4 – Advancement to Intermediate Drum Strokes
